Day 1 :
Upon arrival at the Kayseri airport, transfer to your hotel in Cappadocia. After lunch, we propose the visit of some interesting places such as the Güvercinlik valley, the Kaymakli underground city, the village of Ayvali, the Greek houses of Sinasos. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 :
Today we will visit the Devrent valley, the Zelve open air museum, the Pasa Wineyards, the village of Avanos, the Goreme open air museum and the castle of Uçhisar). Transfer back to the Kayseri airport.

Underground Cities
Many underground cities, burrowed into the tuff were places of refuge from invaders. So far thirty-six are known but only Kaymakli and/or Derinkuyu are being visited. These cities can extend several kilometers with small rooms and larger central squares where streets cross. Passages were sealed with round rocks rolling in grooves. The most recent tunneling may have been built in the Xth A.D. Elaborate systems of ventilation, storage rooms, churches and passages (maybe up to 18 levels) are still being discovered.

The Greek Houses of Sinassos
The small village of Mustafapasa - which used to be Sinasos till the 1920's - holds its charm in the attractive Greece houses dating back from the end of the XIXth century. It is also offering little-visited churches.

The Open Air Museums
Though Göreme is the best-known and most visited, the open air museum of Zelve also worths the tour. These religious complexes consists of churches and monasteries all decorated with frescoes generally dating from the IXth to the XIth centuries. The frescoes and shapes of the churches have all been heavily influenced by the classical Byzantine style : cross shaped, central dome, supported on columns, pictures of the Pantocrator and the archangels.
